This even holds special importance in the racing world because it is sort of the world cup in car racing with national teams participating. The event is also important for the UAE because it was founded by H H Sheikh Maktoum Hasher Maktoum Al Maktoum an important member of Dubai’s ruling family. the the detail’s and Schedule for the event are as under

I shall be going for the main race tomorrow. I’ll try to get some good quality pics and also some good write-up of the event. If anyone has attended the practice or qualifying days, please post details.

I attended the practice & qualifying days for couple of hours per day. It was OK, nothing very interesting. But the most interesting happened at the day end. i.e. a race between two boys, one was driving a modified Mustang and other one was driving modified evolution. The may have started from autodrome, but the cars passed by my car near Green Community round about. though it was dangerous was to drive, but I gues their speed must be above 200 kmph as I was driving at 140 kmph and they vanished with in seconds.

Point is you dont need to go to autodrome to see races, just take a late night long drive on emirates road, you will find STREET RACING.
