For all the avid readers of comic books, the Teshkeel Media Group, (a Kuwait Shareholding Company), is about to introduce to the world a new group of superheroes. Teshkeel’s own properties are based on universal themes of intrinsic in regional culture, history and traditions that speak well to children both in and outside of the Islamic world. The company’s vision is to create a stable of superheroes for all children based on Islamic culture.

Teshkeel’s flagship superhero property, THE 99, will debut with a special issue in May of 2006, followed by a monthly series commencing September ’06. The creative team involved in the development and publishing of THE 99 concept is led by company founder, Dr. Naif Al-Mutawa and comic book veterans who have worked on such popular characters as Superman, Batman, Spider-man, The X-Men and the Power Rangers.
