Cute Brute

The Peter Jackson wonder has just hit the streets of Dubai. I went for the Premier at Metroplex yesterday.
The movie was quite good. Especially the visual effects of the Ape as well as other jungle breeds have been beautifully done and look quite realistic. Generally, everyone thought that the movie would be destructive and scary. I even overheard some people (especially girls) rating the movie as a “horror”.

To be honest, i actually found it quite an emotional movie (romantic to a great extent). The location (Skull Island) was beautiful as anything (except for the skulls), and the Kong himself, a classic gorilla, 100 ft. high, mighty muscles and bloodshot eyes make the perfect setting for the movie.

I shall leave it on you to discover the story yourself, but as it unfolds, you realize that King Kong is actually a soft hearted creature. To add more to the irony, he actually looks quite innocent and “cute” when he gets all moody infront of his girlfriend, hardly the size of his fingers.

King Kong is captured and brought to civilization, where he meets his tragic fate, but does not let go of his feelings till the end.

A must-see movie that you’ll remember as vividly as the original 1933 make……get ready to carry the story down to your grandkids.
