Taj Mahal comes to Dubai

In what will doubtless be another Dubai world record, a 400,000 square foot model of the Taj Mahal is coming to the Global Village:

It will be 75 per cent the size of the original structure located at Agra in India.

Zee [TV Network] said: “Taj Mahal will be one of the central attractions at the Global Village this year, and we expect visitor numbers to cross four million.”

The Global Village is pretty spectacular this winter, and much less crowded than previous years, perhaps because it runs for so much longer. Arab and African pavilions have by far the most interesting wares on sale.

India should have never accepted this, they have made a replica which is going to steal a huge amount of tourists from India and our tourisim industry will suffer for this. Who was responsible for sanctioning this ?

Hah! India Tourism Ministry is reponsible for this, they have enetred in joint venture with Dubai Shopping Festival to build thsi mini replica of Taj Mahal.

Instead of getting furious on this replica, one should appreciate the fact that everyday thousands of tourist are going to watch this and admiring the beauty of great Taj Mahal. May be they will decide to go the original after watching this replica. I dont think that this will decrease the amount of tourist visiting India, but definetly will increase it.

So, Rohit & Mona, stop crying over it and appreciate the fact the Dubai Shopping Festival picked only Taj Mahal from rest of the wonder of the worlds.

hmmm…, i think its a total waste of cash! India could have used the money to feed the poor and make life better for them!

As for dubai, I don’t think the locals know what poor means!
