Dubai Map
Does any have a perfect Dubai Road Map?
After suffering from daily traffic jams, we need to try alternate routes. Such, as thesedays am working in JAFZ, and when I leave at 1730 Hrs, its takes 1 1/2 hour to get to Garhoud Bridge, no matter I take SZR, Emirates Road or Al Wasl Rd. Its total CHAOTIC, and no one in authroities is taking any notice of thsi except for giving statements in News Papers.
By advising alternate and fast route, we may help oursleves and others. Further it will help in reducing air polution and stree level in daily commuters. Lets do our part guys.
BTW, anyone knows how to load a flash file on this website, I do have good map on flash, which shows, all hospitals, petrol pumps and hotels in Dubai metro area.
I have always been very interested in a detailed map of Dubai. Khurram has put together a fair level map of dubai and sharjah that we use on our PDAs with a Blutetooth GPS device. However, since the map is made from Google Earth, (which has a rather poor detail), we cannot mark the roads.
Here is a good map that we can use. Lets try and get some good info together!!

The map available at your advised website, is the same I have in Flash. Ooops!!!
But this map got details for main roads only, I wonder we will ever be able to come up something like “London A to Z”. :(
As Farrukh my pal pointed out in the above comment, we have searched high and low for Dubai maps, and even created some of our own. The best map that I have ever found is this one:
http://www.gis.gov.ae/en/downloads/pdfs/Major%20Projects.pdf
The best thing about this map is that it is to scale, unlike other maps which are found on the net.
There is also a very good map available in all bookshops for around 35 dirhams which is very detailed.
We saw a very detailed map of Dubai at Magrudy’s. Now the need is to scan it and calibrate it. I know estate dealers usually have very detailed maps with street names and landmarks. If someone has the resources, we can scan that and calibrate it to be used with GPS.
Any takers?
http://www.gis.gov.ae has some good pdf maps, unfortunately the links to the english language versions are broken (although you can get to them if you really try hard) … eventually they might bring their gis back on-line … uae locator is totally out of date outside of city centre …
With the ongoing discussions in the United States over the recent purchase of rights to operate 8 of the Nations major ports, I would like to ask if you could point me toward further information on Crown Prince Sheik Saad Al Abdullah Al Sabah ?
Any assistance in helping me, help America understand your Country and it’s Leaders would be greatly appreciated.
