Temporary bridge over Dubai Creek

Probably the most joyful news in a long time related to traffic conditions:

A floating bridge will be constructed over Dubai Creek to ease traffic congestion on Al Maktoum Bridge.

The bridge, which will be built about half a kilometre from Al Maktoum Bridge, will link Omar Bin Al Khattab Road in Deira to Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Road in Bur Dubai.

A permanent bridge will replace the floating structure once the RTA completes the design for the former.

It will be the fourth bridge over Dubai Creek after the Al Maktoum and Al Garhoud bridges and the Ras Al Khor bridge, which is under construction. Details of the floating bridge project will be announced by the authority tomorrow.
