Whale in Marina

A whale shark was spotted in Dubai Marina yesterday. The creature was around 5 meters long and roamed the area for about 4 hours.

What weird things this place has to offer!!!

Subsequent to Zain’s comment, I’m posting this pic of the whale that Gulf News published.

D’Rebel & Farrukh, thanks.. Man this reminds me of my visit to Hong Kong couple of years back when we boarded a vessel to see pink dolphins and spotted a whale shark as well.

It was such a fantastic moment..

A “whale shark” isn’t a whale, it’s a shark. It has a body made entirely of cartilage and respirates through gills, not lungs. It’s actually the largest shark in existence (and therefore the largest fish of any kind), although it doesn’t have any teeth, it eats plankton like a whale. Hence the name “whale” shark.

They’re really cool, they move really slowly and divers can hang on to their back fins and get pulled along on a ride. They’re totally harmless.
